When did they exist?
Dinosaurs appeared on the scene at the end of the Triassic period, some time after the Permo-Triassic mass extinctions that marked the end of the Paleozoic era about 250 MYA(million years ago).
Dinosaurs thrived during much of the Mesozoic era for about 160 million years and during that time they were the dominant type of land creatures.
